As We Approach The Darkest Night Of The Year

“As soon as man finds out that this world was merely pieced together to meet his psychological needs, and that he has no right to it, the final form of nihilism emerges: that which forbids itself any belief in a world of truth.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

“I” unintentionally nestled up into darkness. It wasn’t even offended by the intrusion, but neither did it welcome me; except for the cold sobering breeze that permeated the air… there was hardly any indication that we were even here. The sun underground doesn’t allow for shadows to be seen, and has no memory of lovers who have been. So why let down your hair if not for a little dandruff to set the scene:

Man finds himself tossed and turned upon the waves of strife;
Struggles to find his place in this bustle of confusion called life.
Holding fast the reins of his passion, until he is forced to let go;
Fortune’s wheel presses the many into the crude rocks below.

Some it brings up into unfathomable heights,
To behold cosmic archetypes and bewildering sights.

Then of course there are those who fall in between,
Who neither boast nor bemoan what their eyes have seen.
Out of all the worlds that could potentially have been,
Why did this one become so nauseously obscene?

How naive that you would point your finger at me,
While ignoring the 10 rising up from the sea.

Are we not process & change in an ocean of contingency?
